It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

When she was removed the team required another 66 at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

However although she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
